Trip to Raleigh

Here is part of the Raleigh gang enjoying a popsicle.  I didn't get any pictures with the rest of the kids.  I really need to work on taking more pictures!

The girls and I tagged along with Christoph last week when he had to go to the Raleigh for work.  It was a really quick trip (one night), but it was fun to catch up with our friends and to meet one of our good friend's new baby.  Hopefully we will get to go back another time this summer!

Lydia was sick on this trip and had to have breathing treatments.  Here she is giving herself a breathing treatment on the car ride home.

Bike day, preschool graduation, and the last day of school

We have been busy this May, but I haven't taken many pictures.  Last week Amelia had bike day at her school.  Lydia and I went to watch all of the kids ride their bikes.

Last Friday, Amelia graduated from preschool!  Where did the time go?  I was worried about this year in school because it was a new school and new friends, but she has done great.  She had a really great teacher named Ms. Susan that has been wonderful.  She has also made alot of new friends this year.  We are proud of her.

The pre-K classes sang several songs during the ceremony.

Amelia is being silly with her diploma over her face, but this is the only picture I have of her teacher.

And today was the last day of preschool!  Lydia was sick so she couldn't go, but she wanted in on the pictures too.

Lydia has mastered the cheesy smile!  :-)

Paddle boating in Guntersville

We went to Guntersville (twice) in April to visit Omi and Grandpa.  I only got one picture the entire time we were there.  Here are Amelia, Lydia, Omi, and Grandpa on the paddle boat.  We also took Lydia on her first motor boat ride, Amelia caught a fish, and the girls had fun playing at the park and feeding the ducks.  I need to work on getting more pictures of these activities next time!

Ballet Recital

Amelia and Lydia doing a "ballet pose".  Lydia does not want to be left out of anything these days!

Amelia had her ballet recital last weekend and she did a GREAT job.  She really enjoyed it and I was so impressed at how far she has come this year in ballet.  She had to wear her hair in a bun for the recital and so we had to go to the store to buy some gel, hair spray and bobby pins.  I didn't own any of those things!  After all of that product, the bun stayed in!  Yah!

Easter Weekend

We went to Hendersonville to spend Easter weekend with my family.  My cousin, Tess, and her boyfriend, Michael, were also there visiting and it was so great to see them.  We couldn't remember exactly how many years it had been since I had seen Tess, but it is alot (maybe 13 years?!).  Hopefully we will not go that long without a visit again!  Over the weekend, we did lots of hiking.  The kids did great.  First we took a shorter hike at Dupont forest and then the next day we took a long (about 4 miles) hike up to John Rock near Brevard.  I couldn't believe that Beck, Isabella, and Amelia made it all the way up.  Lydia did a great job riding in the backpack carrier (or should I say that Christoph did a great job carrying Lydia up the mountain).  The view from the top was beautiful!  On Easter Sunday, we went to church with my parents and then had a nice Easter lunch at my parent's house.  Another one of my cousins, Kim, and her family came over for Easter lunch too so we had a crowd.  It was a really fun weekend and we were all sad to have to pack up and go home that afternoon.

On our way up to John Rock

On top of John Rock.  It was steep.  My mom and I were nervous nellies and kept telling everyone to sit down!

Easter morning

Not the best family photo, but it was cold...that is my excuse.
