Gulf Shores Trip Number 1

After the wedding we went down to the beach for 3 days with Omi, Grandpa, Katharina, David, Jake and Zoe.  We had a great time!

I was worried that Lydia might not like the water and the sand, but she loved it and had a great time!

Kendrick and Sara's wedding weekend

Christoph's brother, Kendrick, got married on the first weekend in June in a little town in Kentucky that was just across the border from Clarksville, TN.  We had a very busy, but fun weekend.  The weather was perfect and the setting was beautiful.  Amelia was a flower girl.  Here are some pictures from the rehearsal.

On Saturday before the wedding, Sara's family hosted the Gibson family at her grandparent's farm (which is where the reception was held) for a cookout.  The Gibson's (Christoph's grandfather, aunt, and uncle) brought their instruments and we had a good time listening to music and eating hot dogs and hamburgers.

Here are the girls all dressed up before the wedding for pictures.  There was a tree swing in front of the church which was nice to have to entertain the kids while pictures were being taken. 

The reception was held a few miles down the road from the chapel on Sara's grandparent's farm.  Everything was beautiful!

Sara and Kendrick participated in some German wedding traditions such as cutting out a heart in a sheet and sawing a log.  :-)

Jake and Zoe's visit

Christoph's sister, Katharina, and her husband, David, and their two kids, Jake and Zoe, came to visit us for a few days before we all went up to Kentucky for Kendrick (Christoph's brother) and Sara's wedding and then on to the beach for a few days.  The kids had a great time catching up with their cousins (we don't get to see them very often because they live in Germany).  We took them to the "city pool", to the kids museum, and we took Jake and Amelia tubing on a nearby river.  Here are some pictures from the city pool.

Then we loaded down the minivan and headed to Omi and Grandpa's house for a night before driving up to Kentucky for the wedding.

The First Week of Summer

We have had a busy summer so far!  Here are some pictures from our first week of summer.

Lydia is always cracking us up!  Christoph was sitting like this in the chair and so Lydia gets in the chair sits exactly like him.  Ha!
