Happy Birthday Lydia!

Lydia turned 2 on September 15th!  She had a fun, but busy day with her grandparents and cousins and then at her birthday party in our backyard.

My dad (Papa) made the girls this picnic table for Lydia's birthday.

Lydia had a fun 2nd birthday.  We had a great crowd and alot of fun at her party.  Happy Birthday sweet girl.   Here are a few things about Lydia at age 2...she is a very sweet girl.  She loves to cuddle and hug.  She loves her big sister ("sissy") and copies everything she does.  Lydia is very outgoing and loves to tell everyone at restaurants and grocery stores "hi" and "byebye".  She is also very strong willed.  She spends alot of time in time out for hitting, biting, and just not listening in general.  If you tell her "no", more often than not, she will look right at you and do exactly what you just told her not to do.  Little stinker!  She is very smart.  She understands everything you say and is using 2-3 word phrases such as "no me do" or "byebye daddy" or "shoe on".  Her expressive language skills and vocabulary has really improved in the last couple of months.  Some of her words are still hard to understand, but we are working on it.  Overall, she is a sweetheart and she is hilarious!  She really does the funniest things and keeps us laughing all of the time.

Neighborhood Pool Party

On Saturday night we had our neighborhood end of the summer pool party.  We had a great time and got to meet some new neighbors.  We are so thankful for the friends we have met in our neighborhood over the past year!

Amelia had a great time swimming even though the water was a little too cold for the rest of us.

Amelia is "doing some tricks" with some of the girls from the neighborhood.

Weekend in Guntersville

In August, we went to Guntersville for the weekend to visit Omi and Grandpa and Uncle Kendrick and Aunt Sara.  We had a great time watching Kendrick and Sara complete (and win - congratulations Sara!) in a triathalon, riding on the paddle boat, riding on the motor boat, swimming in the lake, and going out for a nice dinner to celebrate Omi and Grandpa's birthdays.  The weather was GREAT and we had a fun weekend!

I had a lot of pictures from the weekend, but I was having a hard time getting them to load on the blog.  Finally, after messing with it off and on for 4 days, I got these pictures to load, but a lot of the others would not.  It was driving me crazy!
Anyway, it was a fun weekend!!
